Integral Zen

How to integrate Zen Mind and unreasonable joy into the fabric of our lives

Come learn about Integral Zen.  Zen is a word that means: "pure awareness" – a simple awareness beyond the distractions of thought, feeling and sensations.  This awareness is grounded in the timeless experience of the present moment.  Integral Zen in the broadest sense, is a living exploration of this simple, pure awareness.  Once this has been directly experienced, then we turn to the question of how to integrate this awareness, this union of wisdom and compassion into all of our relationships, into the living fabric of our lives.

Doshin will lead us in an inquiry into the deep truth of who we are – the vast stillness of clear, deep heart-mind – the groundless ground of being. Then he will describe how the technology of Mondo Zen™, the Integral Theories of Ken Wilber and the Eight Fold Path can provide a conceptual map to the living territory of human experience which enables a "seeker of truth" to become a "finder of truth".  We will end with enough time for some questions.

Doshin Michael Nelson, Roshi is a poet, speaker, troublemaker, and teacher – a Zen Master of no rank.  He is the founder of Integral Zen, Inc. the Colorado branch of the Hollow Bones Zen Order and co-founder of the Poetry of Dying Project, which uses the mirror of death to point to the essence of life.  Doshin has been fully trained and is adequately skilled in Mondo Zen™.  He can be reached at: doshin (at) integralzen.org.
